Stephen Tackett is a supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer with over two decades of experience spanning music production, sound design, scoring, and final mix for film, television, and commercial projects.

He began his career in 1998 as a music producer in Los Angeles, working out of major studios as well as his private studio on the 5th floor of the historic Motown West Coast building at 6464 Sunset Blvd. During this period, he produced artists across multiple genres, including 50 Cent, Clay Aiken, and Ally Brooke of Fifth Harmony, developing a deep foundation in musical storytelling, sonic balance, and emotional impact.

In 2011, Stephen transitioned into sound design and scoring for television and independent film, applying his music production background to narrative-driven audio and post-production workflows.

In 2016, he co-founded The Audio Planet with Josh Tackett, a full-service audio post-production and film music studio specializing in dialogue editing, sound design, Foley, re-recording mixing, and original music for film, television, documentaries, and high-end commercial work. Under his leadership, The Audio Planet has delivered audio for projects ranging from independent features to nationally released films and has produced work for clients such as Apple, Martin Scorcese, Marvel, Disney and NBCUniversal.

Stephen regularly serves as supervising sound editor and lead mixer, working closely with directors and producers to shape the sonic identity of each project and guide productions through final delivery, including 5.1 and Dolby Atmos formats.
